Resolution 5821C - NOT ACTED ON - Reject GP Amendment - Plan It 203507-03-17 NOT ACTED ON RESOLUTION NO. 5821C A RESOLUTION REJECTING AN AMENDMENT TO THE KALISPELL GROWTH POLICY 2020. WHEREAS, pursuant to MCA 76-1-601 the Kalispell Growth Policy 2020 was originally adopted by the Kalispell City Council on February 18, 2003; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the statutory requirement that the enacted growth policy be reviewed on a regular basis the Kalispell City Planning Board evaluated the Draft Growth Policy — Plan It 2035 Amendment and determined that it would be appropriate to update the Kalispell Growth Policy 2020, as amended; and WHEREAS, the Kalispell City Planning Board prepared, held a public hearing pursuant to § 76-1- 602, MCA, on April 11, 2017, and presented to the Kalispell City Council a document entitled "Draft Growth Policy — Plan It 2035 Amendment" on June 5, 2017, recommending a growth policy update applicable to the entire jurisdictional area of the Kalispell City Planning Board; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Kalispell considered it advisable that they consider the recommended "Draft Growth Policy — Plan It 2035 Amendment" and adopted a Resolution of Intention to Adopt, Revise, or Reject said "Draft Growth Policy — Plan It 2035 Amendment" on June 5, 2017; and WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing pursuant to notice under § 7-1-4128 MCA, on June 19, 2017 and received one (1) public comment on said "Draft Growth Policy — Plan It 2035 Amendment"; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Kalispell finds that it is not in the best interest of the City to amend the Kalispell Growth Policy 2020, as recommended by the Kalispell City Planning Board, said proposed amendment consisting of incorporating the Plan It 2035 Amendment into the Growth Policy. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That pursuant to Section 76-1-604, MCA, the City Council of the City of Kalispell hereby rejects the amendment that was the subject of the Kalispell Planning Department report 4KGPA-14-01 and recommended by the City Planning Board to the Kalispell Growth Policy 2020.
