Daughters of the American Revolution Day
WHEREAS: February 15, 1917 marked the one hundredth anniversary of the forming of the Chief Ignace Chapter of the
Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Kalispell, Montana, and,
WHEREAS: With more than 100 years of tradition, we recognize the DAR Organization for their vast array of service
work, extraordinary historic collections, and countless activities taking place locally, nationally and globally, and,
WHEREAS: The Chief Ignace Chapter embraces the simple mission of promoting historic preservation, education and
patriotism, and,
WHEREAS: These timeless, overarching principles keep all Chapters of the DAR strong and vitally relevant in this
ever -changing world, and,
WHEREAS: It is fitting and proper to accord official recognition on this date, May 20, 2017 in celebration of this
magnificent organization and the Chief Ignace Chapter on its memorable centennial anniversary and to the patriotic revels
which will commemorate this occasion.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mark Johnson, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the City of Kalispell in the
Great State of Montana, do hereby proclaim May 20, 2017 as
DAR Chief Ignace Chapter DAR

AND ask our citizens to reaffirm the ideals of the Founders of the Daughters of the American Revolution by vigilantly
protecting the freedoms guaranteed to us through this guardian of our liberties, remembering that lost rights may never be
