WHEREAS,,, there are over 7 1,000, women and girls living, with Turner Syndrome across the United States; and
WHEREAS, the risk for acute aortic dissection is, 100, times higher in young and middle-aged women with l I urner Syndrome;
and
WHEREAS, individuals with Turner Syndrome also, have all increased risk of non-verbal learning disorders iii school and
work; and
WHEREAS, early diagnosis can help prevent or renlediate growth failure, hearing problems, and learning, difficulties,; and
WHEREAS, with the help of medical specialists and au good social support system, wornen with Turner Syndrorrie can live a
happy, healthy life.
NOW, THEREFORE, 1, Tammi Fisher, Mayor of the City of Kalispell, dos hereby proclaim the trionth of February, 2012 as
TURNER SYNDROME AWARENESS MONTH
and I encourage all citizens to, increase their awareness and education of Turner Syndrome which affects hundreds'of female
babies each year.
