12/12/66 City Council MinutesREGULAR MEETING
A regular meeting of the Kalispell City Council was held December 129 1966,
at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers with Mayor Flynn presiding.
Councilman W. Roberts was absent. All other councilmen were present.
The minutes of the December 5, 1966, meeting were read and approved as
corrected on motion of Councilman Happ. Seconded by Councilman O'Brien and
carried.
City Official Reports:
Clerk and Treasurer - October
Police Chief, Police Judge and Engineer - November
Councilman Bjorneby moved acceptance of the City Official Reports.
Seconded by Councilman Homuth and carried.
Committee Reports:
Finance Committee - Councilman Homuth reported the Finance Committee has
audited all claims. Councilman Homuth moved acceptance of the Finance Commit-
tee Report. Seconded by Councilman Bjorneby and carried.
Library - Councilman O'Brien reported the Library Committee met last Tues-
day and elected Mr. Brewer as Chairman. The committee will meet again next
Tuesday.
Councilman O'Brien moved adoption of Resolution No. 2606 - a resolution
approvingiplanning and other documents submitted to the United States Govern-
ment for the Sanitary Sewer System for Northwest Kalispell. Seconded by
Councilman Bjorneby. Roll Call Vote. All councilmen voted Aye.
Councilman Roche moved enactment of Ordinance No. 736 amending Section
2-11 of the Code of the City of Kalispell, providing firemen with sick leave.
Seconded by Councilman Riley. Roll Call Vote. All voted Aye.
Councilman Bjorneby moved enactment of Ordinance No. 737 providing one-
way streets on Third Avenue East and Fourth Avenue East, regulating the direc-
tion cars may travel on each street. Seconded by Councilman Happ. Roll Call
Vote. All voted Aye.
Councilman Riley moved the City Engineer be instructed to install stop
signs on Fourth Avenue East from Center Street to Fourteenth Street and stop
signs for a four-way stop at the intersection of Ninth Street East and Fourth
Avenue East. Seconded by Councilman Bjorneby and carried.
Correspondence:
A letter was received from the Montana Aeronautics Commission stating
regulations prohibiting drag racing on airports.
A letter was received from Carl Weissman & Sons requesting City water
service, fire protection and other City services. The City will communicate
with Great Northern Railway Officials as to whether they will agree to annex
a strip of their property which separates Weissman's property from adjoining
the City.
Mayor Flynn reported that the Sewer -Water Committee and most of the
other council members met with Morrison-Maierle representatives to consider
the sewer proposal for Northwest Kalispell.
Councilman Roche moved Mayor Flynn be authorized to sign applications
for Federal Government Grants pertaining to the sewer project. Seconded by
Cquncilman Riley and carried.
Councilman Roche moved the January 2nd meeting be postponed to January
16th. Seconded by Councilman Happ and carried.
Councilman M. Roberts moved for adjournment. Seconded by Councilman
Homuth and carried.
