Re: Confirmation of Police Officers Sean Keller, Dan Williams, and Justin Turner
Dear Mr. Russell,
Ytrtbng to
Exceed
6'xpectations'
Officer's Sean Keller, Dan Williams and Justin Turner have successfully completed the Kalispell
Police Department's one year probationary period effective December 7, 2016. Under Montana
State Law, at the end of the probationary period and within 30 days the appointment of the
officer must be submitted to the City Council for consideration.
Officer Keller comes to us from the San Mateo (California) Police Department where he served
as a police officer, K9 officer, and a SWAT officer for 7 years. Officer Keller served in the
United States Marine Corps from 2000 to Honorable Discharge in 2004, earning, among other
awards, a Combat Action Ribbon and Navy Achievement Medal. He holds a Masters of Science
Degree in Criminal Justice. Officer Keller grew up in Colorado and wanted a similar
environment in which to raise his family, luckily for us he chose Kalispell.
Officer Dan Williams is a Montana native, born and raised in Kalispell. He graduated from
Flathead High School and holds an Associates Degree in Nursing. Officer Williams worked
locally and served as a Reserve Officer with the Kalispell Police prior to being hired full time.
During his time as a Reserve Officer it became apparent that Reserve Officer Williams would
make a great Kalispell Police Officer.
Officer Justin Turner is also a Montana native, he graduated from Columbia Falls High School
and received a degree from the Wyoming Technical Insitute. Officer Turner spent multiple years
in the North Dakota oil fields and was quickly promoted to the role of supervisor. Officer
Turner brings a contagious excitement to "serving the public" and making a positive impact.
