SPECIAL MEETING
A Special Meeting of the Kalispell City Council was held December 16,
1968, in the Council Chambers, in accordance with the following notice given
and acknowledged:
TO THE HONORABLE BOARD OF COUNCILMEN
CITY OF KALISPELL, MONTANA
Gentlemen:
There will be a Special Meeting of the City Council Monday, December
16, 1968, in the Council Chambers at 7:30 P.M. for the following purpose:
TO CONSIDER CONTRACT WITH KEN R. WHITE CO.
We, the undersigned, being all of the members of the City Council, do
hereby waive notice of the date and purpose of the Special Meeting of the
City Council to be held Monday, December 16, 1968, at,7:30 P.M., and con-
sent to the transaction of the above and any other business that may prop-
erly come before the Council.

Mayor Bjorneby presided at the meeting. Councilman Miron was absent.
All other councilmen were present.
Mr. Don Penner of the Ken R. White Company reviewed the proposed con-
tract and answered questions of various councilmen.
Councilman Riley moved acceptance of the contract, with payments to be
on a monthly basis, provided money can be made available. Seconded by Coun-
cilman Roberts and carried.
Councilman Riley moved Mayor Bjorneby be authorized to sign the contract
with the Ken R. White Company. Seconded by Councilman McCormick and carried.
Mayor Bjorneby stated that since Gov. Babcock had given State employees
a holiday on Tuesday, December 24th, several City employees had inquired if
this Would be a holiday for City employees also. Mayor Bjorneby indicated
that he was not in favor of granting City employees a holiday on Tuesday,
December 24th. Councilmen concurred that City employees should not be

Mayor Bjorneby read excerpts from a letter from the Montana State High-
way Department concerning traffic signals.
Mayor Bjorneby referred briefly to several of the applications for Exe-
cutive of the League of Cities and Towns. These applicants will be inter-
viewed by the Employment Committee of the League later this month and one of
the applicants will probably be selected for the position.
Councilman Riley moved for adjournment. Seconded by Councilman Roche
