WHEREAS, THERE HAS BEEN INTRODUCED IN THE MONTANA HOUSE OF REPRESENT-
ATIVES OF THE 44TH LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY, THE "PUBLIC UTILITIES ACT" OF 1975,
DESCRIBED AS "AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE OWNERSHIP AND OPERATION OF PUBLIC
UTILI"T"IES BY UNITS OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT," HOUSE BILL NO. 80.
WHEREAS, THE POSSIBLE LOSS OF COUNTY AND CITY TAKES AND SUPPORT yr int
STATEWIDE LEVEIES FOR OUR PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND THE UNIVERSITY SYSTEM IS NOT,
CURRENTLY DESIREABLE; AND PRESENT CONSISTENCY OF SERVICE BY AN EFFICIENT
INTERCONNECTED NETWORK OF UTILITIES FAR OUTWEIGHS THE CONCEPT OF FIFTY-SIX
COUNTIES ENTIRELY DEPENDENT ON EACH OTHER FOR POWER AND GAS SUPPLY. BE IT
RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL, MONTANA, THAT SAID
COUNCIL DOES OPPOSE HOUSE BILL NO. 80, THE "PUBL UTILITIES ACT" OF 1975.
NOW THEREFORE A COPY HERE OF SHOULD BE FUR SHED THE CHAIRMAN AND
MEMBERS OF THE BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY COMMITTE OF THE MONTANA HOUSE OF REPRE-
