A RESOLUTION LEVYING THE COST OF REMOVAL OF GARBAGE OR OTHER
OFF:NSIVE MATTER FROM STREETS, ALLEY, OR ON ANY PREMISES AS
A SPECIAL TAX AGAINST PROPERTY FROM WHICH SUCH MATTER WAS
DEPOSITED, AND THE DISPOSITION THEREOF.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL,
MONTANA:
WHEREAS, Section I1-909 of the revised Codes of Montana, 1947,
gives a City Council power to provide for levying the cost of
removal of garbage or other offensive matter from streets,
alleys, or any premises as a special tax against the property
from which the same was deposited, the City Council deems
such a method more equitable and just than paying for such
removal from the General Fund of the City.
SECTION 1. The cost for removal of garbage or other offensive
matter for the year 1974 is hereby estimated to be .112 000.00,
and the City Council finds that the cost of the removal —
of -garbage or other offensive matter from the various lots and
parcels of land within the City and benefited by such removal
is the amount as shown by the records maintained in City Hall.
SECTION 2. That the cost is hereby established as follows:

$24-00 per average single family residential
dwelling unit on one or more contiguous city lots
per year;
Residential vacant lots (not contiguous to and
part of a residential unit) at 50% or $12.00
per year;
Commercial parking lots operated by the City
in a lease shall be exempt;
Charges for all other garbage collection costs
shall be in accord with the schedule maintained
in the office of the City .Engineer.
