Resolution 2683 - Sends Pool Question to Voters244 RESOLUTION NO. 2683 A RESOLUTION ORDERING THAT THE QUESTION OF THE RENOVATION AND MODERNIZATION OF THE WOODLAND PARK SWIMMING POOL BE SUBMITTED TO THE VOTERS AT A CITY SPECIAL ELECTION WHEREAS, a petition requesting renovation and modernization of the Woodland Park Swimming Pool, in the City of Kalispell, was filed with the City Clerk on May 13, 1968; said petition having been signed by a sufficient number of signers qualified to sign same; and WHEREAS, said petition, with certificate of said City Clerk attached thereto, has been placed before this council at this, the first meeting thereof held after it was filed with said Clerks and WHEREAS, this council has examined said petition and finds it in proper form bearing the required number of signatt.ares of qualified petitioners and is in all other respects sufficient; and WHEREAS, the City Council has hired engineers to design the proposed renovation and modernization of the Woodland Park Swimming Pool; and WHEREAS, said project is being designed, and according to engin- eering estimates, will require the sum of $120,000.00 for completion; and WHEREAS, the City of Kalispell will be required to furnish the approximate sum of $60,000.00 for the construction of said project; and WHEREAS, the City of Kalispell has earmarked for such project the sum of $17,000.00; and WHEREAS, the City of Kalispell will be required to furnish the approximate sum of $43,000.00 additional for the construction of said project; and WHEREAS, the City of Kalispell will apply for a contribution from an agency of the United States Government for matching funds for said project in the amount of $60,000.007 and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to construct and complete the said renovation and remodeling of the Woodland Park Swimming Pool project by the use of general obligation bonds issued pursuant to Title Eleven, Chapter Twenty -Three of the Revised Codes of Montana, 1947, and WHEREAS, the question of the approval of said project and its financing must be submitted to the proper voters of Kalispell: NOW THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED that the question of the approval or rejection of the proposed renovation and remodeling of the Wood- land. Park Swimming Pool project be placed before the proper voters at a City Special Election to be held on June 4, 1968. IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk give all notices required by law for said election question and that he authorize the closing of registration for said election pursuant to law.
