A RESOLUTION FOR THE SUBMISSION TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF
KALISPELL, MONTANA OF THE QUESTION OF ISSUING GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS OF
THE CITY OF KALISPELL, MONTANA TO THE EXTENT OF $60,000.00 FOR THE PURCHASE
OF A QUINT ELEVATING PLATFORM TYPE FIRE TRUCK, WITH NECESSARY APPURTENANCES,
AND TO REMODEL THE CITY FIRE HALL TO ACCOMMODATE SAID FIRE TRUCK.
WHEREAS, a petition has been filed with the City Clerk of the City of Kalispell,
Montana on the 11th day of February' 1963$ signed by more than 20% of the
qualified electors of said City, praying for the submission to the qualified
electors of the question of issuing General Obligation Bonds of the City of
Kalispell, Montana to the extent of $60,000.00 for the purchase of a Quint
elevating platform type fire truck, with necessary appurtenances, and to
remodel the City Fire Hall to accommodate said fire truck;
AND WHEREAS, the City Clerk has examined said petition and has found that it
has a sufficient number of signers qualified to sign the same, and he has
attached thereto his certificate and presented same to the City Council of the
City of Kalispell, Montana, all as provided by Section 11-2307 R.C.M. 1947;
AND WHEREAS, said petition has been found to be in proper form, and bears the
signatures of more than 207 of the qualified electors of the City of Kalispell,
Montana, who are taxpayers upon property within said city, and said petition
Is in all other respects sufficient under the provisions of Chapter 23 of
Title II Revised Codes of Montana, 1974, as amended;
AND WHEREAS, a General Municipal Election of the City of Kalispell, Montana
has been called as provided by law, to be held on Monday, April 1, 1963,
between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M. of said day, and it is deemed
and judged by the City Council of the City of Kalispell, Montana, advisable
and feasible that the question of issuing General Obligation Bands, as above
mentioned, be submitted to the qualified electors of the City of Kalispell,
Montana, as the term qualified electors is used and intended by the provisions
of the above mentioned chapter, at said municipal election so to be held on the
day and date aforesaid;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Kalispell,
Montana, that there be submitted to the qualified electors of the said City
of Kalispell, who are taxpayers upon property within said city, and whose
names appear on the last completed assessment roll for State and County taxes
as taxpayers within the said city, at the General Election to be held in
Kalispell on April 1, 1963 between the hours of 800 A.M. and 8:00 P.M. of
said day, the question of issuing; General Obligation Bonds of said city to
the extent of $60,000.00 for the purchase of a Quint elevating platform type
fire truck, with necessary appurtenances and to remodel the City Fire Hall
to accommodate said fire truck, as hereinabove set forth. Such bonds shall
be either amortization bonds or serial bonds, and shall be paid through a
period of ten years, shall be redeemable at the option of the City Council
at any time before maturity, if so recited in said bonds, and shall bear
interest at not to exceed six per cent per annum;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of -the City of Kalispell, Montana
that the City Clerk of said city is hereby authorized and directed to give the
necessary notice of such election and of the submission of such question to
the qualified electors of the City of Kalispell, Montana, to prepare the
necessary ballots therefor and to do all other acts and things necessary for
the accomplishment of the purpose of this resolution.
PASSED BY THE City Council of the City of Kalispell, Montana, and approved by
the Mayor this 4th day of March, 1963,
