01-22-15 Parking Advisory Board MinutesCITY OF KALISPELL PARKING MONTHLY BOARD MEETING MINUTES Date: January 22, 2015 Location: KPC Conference Room In attendance: Mark Pirrie, Janet Clark, Joel Schoknecht and Captain Wade Rademacher Minutes recorded by: Karen Durado 1. Call to Order: Called to Order at 7:30 a.m., By: Mark Pirrie 2. Approval of the Agenda: Moved by Janet, second by Mark. 3. Approval of November Board Meeting: Moved by Janet, second by Joel. 4. Hearing of the Public: Bill Goodman (KM Building owner) attended the meeting to express his concern over the parking crisis in downtown Kalispell. His building is at capacity and he is to the point of losing tenants due to the lack of parking. He is currently seeking parking for approximately 16 of his tenants. Bill suggested converting some of the parking on the eastside of Central School Museum to permit parking. Half of this area has 9-hour meters and the other half is 2-hour parking. The Advisory Board made the recommendation that the 2-hour parking in front of the museum be converted to permit parking. Parking would be on a first come first serve basis. Captain Rademacher will make the recommendation to Chief Nasset and Doug Russell. It would also have to go before City Council. 5. Approval of Financial Statements of November and December 2014: Moved by Joel, second Janet. 6. Updates from City Parking: Captain Rademacher provided an update on snow removal. We had snow removed from five of the lots that we are responsible for, for a total of $4,180.00. We have $7,477.00 remaining in our snow removal budget. These lots were done first because they are strictly permit and the snow piles are affecting parking spaces and safety. The Keno Lot will be the next to have the snow removed. The Eagles and Valley Bank Lots still have room as they are a combination of permit and meter/machine spaces. Unfinished Business: 7. New Business: The next meeting will be Thursday, April 9, 2015.
