Resolution 2137 - Submit to a Vote - Fire Dept BondsM RESOLUTION NO. 2137 A RESOLUTION FOR THE SUBMISSION TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL AT THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL TO BE HELD APRIL 4, 1949 OF THE QUESTION OF ISSUING BONDS OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL IN THE AMOUNT OF $812000.00 FOR THE PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT REPAIRS REPLACEMENTS .AND FACILITIES FOR 2IIE USE OF THE FIRA DEPARTMkNTCF KALISPELL HEREAS apet1tion has been filed with the City Clerk of the City of Kalispell on the loth day of March, 1949, signed by more that 20% of the qualified electors of Kalispell, praying for the submission to the qualfied electors of .Kalispell of the question of borrowing money and assuring general obligation bonds of the City of Kalispell in the amount of $81,000.00 for the purpose of purchasing for the Fire Department of Kalispell two 750 gallon per minute fire trucks and pumpers, (one triple and one quadruple aem- bination) with necessary equipment hose, nozzles, and other app- urtenances and for the erection of an addition to the City Fire Hall building and making alterations and improvements in the present building, all for the purpose of housing and caring; for said equipment and for the purchase and installation of an electric fire alarm system within the City of Kalispell; AND WHEREAS, the City Clerk of Kalispell has examined said petition and has fround it has a tufficient number of signers qualified to sign the same, and has attached thereto b!T certificate and presented the same to the City Council of KalispelX, all as provided by Section 5278.7, R.C.M. 19359 AND WHERAS, said petition has been found to be in proper form, and bears the signature of more than 20% of the qualified electors of the City of Kalispell who are taxpayers upon property within said city, and said petition is in all other respects sufficient under the provisions oe Chapter 399 of the Revised -odes of Montana 1935, as amended; AND WHEREAS a general muiicipal election of the City of Kalispell has callel as provided by law, to be held on Monday, April 4, 1949, between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 6s00 P.M. of said day2 and it is deemed and judged by the Council of the City of Kalispell advisable and feasible that the question of the issuance of fire department bonds as above mentioned be submitted to the qualified electors of the City of Kalispell as the term qualified electors is used and intended by the provisions of the above mentioned chapter, Pt said general municipal election so to be held on the day and date aforesaid; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Kalispell, that there be submitted to the qualified electors of the City of Kalispell, who are taxpayers upon property within said city and whose names appear on the last completed assessment roll for state and county taxds, as taxpayers within said city, at the general city election to be held in Kalispell on "pril 4, 1949, between the hours of 800 A.M. and 6:00 P.I. of said day, the question of borrowing money and issue ng bonds of said city in the amount of $81,000.00 for the purpose of purchasing additional fire department equipment the erection and remodeling of storage facilities and installation of an eleettie fire alarm system in Kalispell, all as hereinabove set forth; such bonds shall be either amortozation bonds or serial bonds, and shall be paid through a period of ten years shall be redeemable at the option of the City Council at any time before maturity if so recited insaiid bonds, and shall bear interest at not to exceed 6% per annum; BE IT FURTHER 'SOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Kalispell is hereby authorized and directed to give the necessary notices of such election and of the submission of such question to the qualfied electors of the City of Kalispell and to prepare the necessary ballotsiherefor and to do all other acts and thiggs necesary for the accomplishment of the purposes of this resolution. Made and passed by the City Council of the City of Kalispell and approved by the Mayor this 15th day of March, 1949. D. S. Cameron I, C. H.
