A. RESOLUTION DECLARING THAT AN UAFURGENCY EXISTS AND THAT IT WAS
NECESSARY TO MAKE EXPENDITURES IN EXCESS OF THE 91OUNT PROVIDED
BY THE BUDGET FOR. THE VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1949-50.
WHEREAS, Resolutions No. 2170 and No. 2174 provided for emergency
warrants against the Street Fund for Street and '>'aarehouse purposes,
and the amount of $7536.56 was necessary to care for expenditures
in the Street Department t and $�2942.15 was necessary for the erection
of a Storage Building anti accessories, making a total. of $10,478.71
against the Street Fund, and
WHEREAS, it was necessary to have additional help in the Engineer's
office causing expenditures in excess of the budget in the amount
of 249.359 and the purchase of Fed Radio and equipment caused
additional expenditures in the Police Department in the amount of
538.28, and, additional labor was required to properly enforce
the City Ordinances regarding the Pound this 'budget was exceeded
in the amount of $259.95, and the District Court of Lewis and Clark
County ruled that Industrial Accident pre�iiums be paid on Fire
Department employees, necessitating an expenditure in the amount
of $415.72 in the Accident Insurance Budget in excess of the amount
budgeted, making a total for the General Fund of 1,463.30, and,
WHEREAS Band Concerts during the month of July 1949 caused expendi-
tures 01 $269.90 for which no provision was made in the 1949-50
budget) ands
WHEREAS- labor and material costs were necessary in the amount of
135.16 of the current budget for Ambulance expenses, and,
WHEREAS, flood conditions and heavy precipitation during the current
year eaus-,d damage to the Sewer Disposal Plant which necessitated
and expenditure of $3,663.91;

that be reasons of the facts as hereinabove stated an emergency
is hereby declared to exist under the provisions of Section 11-1409
of the lli wised Codes of the State of Montane 1947, and, that the
expenditures listed above for the various departments and against
the several funds are hereby authorized for the purposes herein
set forth, and emergency warrants be drawn against the several
,funds and the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed
to pay such warrants with any money in the several funds mentioned
that is available and if there is not sufficient money in such funds
to pay such warrants then the same shall be registered and bear
interest and be called for payment in the manner provided for by
law for other State 13arrants.
