RESOLUTION NO. 2145
k RESOLUTION DECLARIING THAT AN EMERGENCY EXISTS AND THAT IT IS
NECESSARY TO .�IAKE EXPE,2vDITURES IN EXCESS OF THE AMOUNT PROVIDED
BY THE CURRENT BUDGET FOR THE VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS:
Whereas, because of the extremly long and severe winter necessitating
the consumption of fuel more than the average heating system and
because of necessary repairs it wam necessary to exceed the City
Hall budget in the approximate ama-unt of $10.00 up to and Including
April 30, 1949 and
Whereas the demands of the people for bond issues and the proposal
for a franchise necessitating additional printing, election judges,
and clerks, advertising and stationary, it was necessary to exceed
the budget for election purposes in the approximate amount of
$570.00 and
Whereas the number of calls required of the ambulance necessitates
additional labor, maintenance and repairs, it was necessary to
exceed this budget in the approximate amount of $500.00 and
Whereas; the improvements to the sewage di_` posal plant as an
emergency measure for flood control necessitates expenditurers
in exceeding of the budget in the approximate mmount of $71500.00
and
Whereas; because of the extremly long and severe winter with an
excessive amount of snowfall and because of the increase in
wages it will be necessary to excee d the Street budget in an
amount as yet undeteraiined.
BE IT RESOLVED BY TE1 CITY COUNCIL OF TFE CITY OF KALI3PELL THAT
BY REASON OF THIE FACTS AS hERETNABOVE STATED AN EMERGENCY IS
HEREBY DECLARED to exist iindor the provisions of Section 5083.8
of the, Revised Codes of Montana 1935 and an expenditure of $580.00
in the excess of the current budget for the General Fund:
for the ambulance budget $500.00 for the sewer s rvdoe fund,
37500.00 is hereby authorized for the Purpose herein set forth to
and including April 30, 1949 that emergency warrants be drawn
against the several funds and that the City Treasurer is authorized
and directed to.pay such 'warrants with any money in the
several funds mentioned that is available and if there is not
sufficient money in such funds to pay such warrants, then the
same shall be registered and bear interest and be called for paymatt
in the manner provided by law for other City warrants.
