07. Resolution 4383 - Public Hearing - FEMA GrantAgenda -December 1, 1997
AGENDA ITEM 7 - RESOLUTION 4383- SET DATE FOR PUBLIC HEAVING -BUDGET
AMENDMENT-FEMA GRANT
BACKGROUND/CONSIDERATION: During the last several months, Jim Hansz and I have
been working with the FEMA personnel to gain reimbursement of flood damage costs from this
spring's flooding event. I am happy to inform you that we have been successful in that effort. We
have already received a check from the federal government in the total amount of $45,310. The
breakdown for the department is enclosed. This will assist us in repairs such as street damage, flood
erosion control for a lift station, fire equipment, police equipment, and damage to parks and
playgrounds. This also assists in the cost of providing a specific vaccination series to the public safety
employees.
RECOMMENDATION: To authorize expenditures of these funds and reimbursement to each of
the departments that incurred the additional costs, I highly recommend approval of this amendment.
ACTION REQUIRED: Approval of RESOLUTION 4383 is needed to authorize these funds.
