i am requesting that the City Council authorize the installation of stop
signs for the north and south bound traffic on 2" d Avenue W.N. at the
intersection of Washington Street.
At the request of a local citizen the Public Works Department and the
Police Department have checked the intersection of West Washington Street
and 2ndAvenue W.N. to determine whether a STOP sign installation is _
warranted at this location.
The accident history at this location reveals that there have been (5)
accidents from 1 January 1996 to 26 August 1997. Attached is a copy of the
Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices which covers the accident issue
in Section 2 B-5, item #4. Public works Director Jim Han sz and I both agree
that a stop sign is warranted.
