SUBJECT: 1997 Curbing and Sidewalk Bid Analysis Recommendation
One bid was received from Sandon Construction. The bid was in order and contained the
required bonding.
This contract is intended primarily for residents and businesses wishing to take advantage
of the annual sidewalk and curbing program.
The major components of the bid are as follows:
BID ITEM UNIT 1997 BID
4" Sidewalk SF $3.30
6" Sidewalk SF $3.50
Curb and Gutter LF $8.00
1996 PRICE
$3.00
$3.20
'm
Straight Curb LF $8.50 $8.50
The small increase in the price of sidewalks can be attributed to more stringent pedestrian
and tree root protection requirements.
The Public Works Department recommends the contract be awarded to Sandon
Construction.

Clarence, the landscaping bid awards as recommended by Sitescape Associates are below the
budgeted amounts for the two subdivisions. The landscaping budget (before adding Addendum
A - landcaping in front of individual units) was established at $133,225 for both sites; and the
total of the bids comes to $101,60 including the addition of Addendum A. Therefore, I concur
with the recommendations presented to you by Bruce Lutz.
