W11 I - . U-4-4- M!� .1 Submitted by: Addison H. Clark, Chief of Police U 01 11 Of U During the month of February, 1997 the Kalispell Police Department handled a total of 1,356 calls for service. Of the. 487 citations. issued, 312 of them were for Traffic violations. Officers arrested a total of 110 subjects including both adults and juveniles. There were 13 DUI arrests and officers issued a total of 69 citations for Drivers Operating_ Without Insurance. 9 1 1 1,356 Incident calls were handled 110 Arrests were made (including Adults and Juveniles) 487 Citations were written 312 Of these were traffic citations 800 S. Main ST. Kalispell PH 758-5878 Chief Clark, During the month of February 1997 the Northwest Drug Task Force made two arrests.Two searches and six agency assists were conducted. Illegal drugs with a street value of $82,000.00 were seized. 2.5 pounds of marijuana and 39 marijuana plants were seized. Two ounces of marijuana, two grams of cocaine, two grams of methamphetamine, and one quarter ounce of psilocybin mushrooms with a street value of $845.00 were purchased. The following suspects were charged with the following crimes: Dustin Yearout: charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Toren Phipps: arrested and charged with criminal manufacture or production of dangerous drugs for growing the above mentioned 39 marijuana plants. Phipps grow was hidden behind a false wall within in his residence located behind the Pizza. Hut delivery ,. building across from Woodland Park. Phipps is known to be associated with several known drug abuser/dealers in Kalispell. Several arrest and search warrants are being filed at this time in connection with the above mentioned drug purchases. There was approximately $7,250.00 in fire loss. There were no general alarm fires. The fire calls were as follows: 1. Combustibles near heat 1 ,�, 5. Malicious False 1 Alarm 2. Terry Eaton gave a home safety talk at P.T.I., with approximately forty employees in attendance. He also gave a talk at the Summit with thirty children and thirteen adults in attendance. A fire extinguisher demonstration was given at the Justice Center by Fire Marshal Richard Seddon and Firefighter Terry Eaton, with twenty-five employees in attendance. A Nurturing Center Workshop was given by Steve Herman at Cavanaughs with fifteen people in attendance. There were five school tours of the fire station with eighty-five students participating.
