10. Schedule Joint Meeting with County CommissionersAgenda -January 27, 1997 AGENDA ITEM 10 - SCHEDULE JOINT MEETING -COUNTY COMMISSIONERS/CITY COUNCILS BACKGROUND/CONSIDERATION: In light of the Editorial in the Daily Inter Lake, the letter from the Cities -County Cooperation Group, the letter in the Inter Lake, and our desire to continue dialogue, cooperation, a continuing mutual education, and a consolidated effort to provide the best service and goal attainment throughout the Flathead, I would presume that we would desire to be the "host" for the next "Fifth Monday" joint meeting. RECOMMENDATION/ACTION REQUIRED: I would like direction to the staff of your desire to proceed with planning this meeting. I also request your input for agenda/discussion items we desire to address at this meeting. JAN 2 3 1997 Cooperation Gro• of Depot Park,s. 991 - 1 January 22, 1997 Clarence Krepps, City Manager City of Kalispell P. O. Box 1997 Kalispell, MT 59903-1997 Dear Clarence: Given the Daily InterLake's recent editorial regarding the possible resumption of "Fifth Monday" meetings among the members of city and county governing bodies in Flathead County, we thought it would be appropriate to reiterate our offer to assist and facilitate in any way possible the convening of such a session on March 31, 1997. At that time the Legislature will have less than a month left in its deliberations for the biennium, and the impact of its actions on local government operations may be a timely topic for discussion. Our group will be able to report on progress being made toward the establishment of a Teen Court program locally, and I'm sure each local government will have issues of its own to raise. Please let us know if we may be of any assistance to you and the City Council in arranging a Fifth Monday meeting. Sincerely, Carol Daly r the Cities -County Cooperation Group
