07. Ordinance 1256 - Stop Signs - 2nd ReadingBACKGROUND/CONSIDERATION: This is the second and final reading of
this ordinance. This is the "clean-up" ordinance for the signs
that have been placed in the last few months.
RECOMMENDATION: As I previously submitted, this ordinance is
recommended for approval to finally authorize/legalize signs that
are placed.

AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE PLACEMENT OF STOP SIGNS AT INTERSECTIONS
OF 7 TE AVENUE WEST NORTH
AND
WEST iARIZONA •
NORTH;AVENUE WEST
EAST NORTH AND RAILROAD TRACKS; 3Rm AVENUE EAST NORTH AND RAILROAD
TRACKS; ALBINA STREET AND WOODLAND AVENUE; PARKWAY AND 4 MILE
DRIVE; JIT AVENUE WEST AND 11' STREET WEST, ESTABLISHING A PENALTY,
AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL,
MONTANA AS FOLLOWS:
SECTI --I. That vehicles, including motor vehicles,
bicycles, or other vehicles shall be required
to stop:
A) In the East and West bound lanes of West Wyoming at the
intersection with 7th Avenue West North;
B) In the West bound lane of West Arizona at the
intersection with 5th Avenue West North;
C) In the North and South bound lane5of 13th Avenue West at
the intersection with 7th Street West;
D) In the West bound lane of a private drive located at 18t
Avenue East North and the railroad tracks;
E) In the East bound lane of a private drive located at 3rd
Avenue East North and the railroad tracks;
F) In the East bound lane of Albina Street at the
intersection with Woodland Avenue;
G) In the North bound lane of Parkway Drive at the
intersection with 4 Mile Drive;
H) In both the North and South bound lane5of Ist Avenue West
at the intersection with 11th Street; and
f, I) In both the East and West bound lane5of llth Street at
the intersection with 1st Avenue West.
SECTION -11. The Chief of Police is authorized and directed
to erect stop signs at the above locations.
SECT1.06-1-11. Any person who violates any of the provisions
of this Ordinance shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor and shall be fined or imprisoned
in accordance with Section 1-9 of Kalispell
City Code.
SFX-T-10R-1-V. This Ordinance shall become effective 30 days
from and after its passage by the City Council
and approval by the Mayor.
