AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE MODIFICATION OF THE KALISPELL, MONTANA
URBAN RENEWAL PLAN (THE URBAN RENEWAL PLAN) TO APPROVE CERTAIN
PROJECTS AS URBAN RENEWAL PROJECTS
BACKGROUND/CONSIDERATION: This is the continuance of the approval
process that has been an ongoing discussion for several months.
The 2nd reading is the continuance of action taken at the August
19, 1996 meeting. Approval of this ordinance is crucial to the
continuance of several transactions and goals set when the Council
created the Tax Increment Financing area.
RECOMMENDATION: To complete the process to modify the urban renewal
area, this ordinance needs to be approved by the Council. To
complete prior actions, decisions, and plans, I highly recommend
approval of this ordinance.
ACTION REQUIRED: Completion of the approval of action is required
by final approval of this ORDINANCE.
ORDINANCE NO. 1247
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 1243 RELATING TO THE
MODIFICATION THE KALISPELL, MONTANA URBAN RENEWAL PLAN.
WHEREAS, on July 15, 1996, the City Council of the City of
Kalispell approved Ordinance No. 1243 entitled: AN
ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE MODIFICATION OF THE KALISPELL,
MONTANA URBAN RENEWAL PLAN (THE URBAN RENEWAL PLAN) TO
APPROVE CERTAIN PROJECTS AS URBAN RENEWAL PROJECTS, and
WHEREAS, it now appears that the City may be able to undertake
certain projects included within the modification without
relying on bonding to fund the projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KALISPELL, MONTANA AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. That Ordinance No. 1243; (An Ordinance Relating to
the Modification of the Kalispell, Montana Urban
Renewal Plan (the Urban Renewal Plan) to Approve
certain Projects as Urban Renewal Projects) is
hereby repealed.
SECTION II. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after
thirty days of its passage by the City Council.
