IiEREAS, because of the increase in salaries granted to Alderman by the 1943 Legislature the City Council exceeded its budget in the amount of $37.87 an,. RHEREAS, because of the increase in salary and increase in bond the City Treasurer exceeded his budget in the amount of 254.82, and WHEREAS, because of the increase in salary granted by the State Legisla- ture the City Attorney exceeded his budget in the amount of $39.30 and, 1HEIMS, because of the present emergency it became necessary to increase ` the number of patrolmen, and to complete the installation of Police Radio facilities, the Police Department budget was exceeded in the amount of $4407.67 and, WHER kS, because of the installation of Police Radio facilities necessitated the remodeling of the City Hall this budged was exceeded in the amount of $1000.56, and WHEREAS, in order to equalize the cost of lighting the various districts, the City Council increased the amount to be paid from the'General Fund of the`City causing an excess in expenditures of the Street Lighting budget in the amount of $39.00 and, 1EREAS, because of the extremely long and severe winter with excessive snowfall and because of the increase in wages the Street 'budget was exceeded in the amount of $4705,17 and, WHEREAS, because of increase in wages, increase in the amount of fuel, and additional labor to maintain the beauty of the Parks this budget was exceeded in the amount of $2149.13 therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Kalispell that by reason of the facts as hereinabove stated an emergency is hereby declared to exist under the provisions of Section 5083.8 of the revised Codes of Montana, 1935, and an expenditure of $5779.22 in the excess of the current budget for the General Fund, $4705.17 for the Street Fund, 2149.13 for the Park fund; $12633.52 is hereby authorized for the purpose herein set forth and emergency warrants be drawn against the several funds and the City Treasurer is authorized and directed to pay such warrants with any money in the several funds mentioned that is available and if there is not sufficient money in such funds to pay said warrants, then the same shall be registered and bear interest and be called for payment in the manner provided by law for other City %irrants.
