16. Acquisition of Lot for Right of Way PurposesMEMO TO: Al Thelen, Interim City Manag FROM: Robert Babb, City Engineer RE: Purchase of Subdivision Lot For oad Extension DATE: April 3, 1996 We are requesting permission from the City Council to purchase an existing subdivision lot to permanently secure a road right-of-way West of the South Meadows Subdivision. This subdivision was approved several years ago and the extension of Bluestone Drive was terminated at South Meadows Drive. It is evident this road will have to be extended westerly to accommodate future water line, sewer line, and access requirements. An $8000 selling price is being asked as it is a building lot. The developer of this area has agreed to buy it. He would then sell it to the City for his purchase price. After extensive discussion with the City Attorney, it was decided this would be the proper way to handle this. This is similar to the recent land that the City had to restore to Mr. Hall at the end of Liberty Street because the City had acquired it improperly. We are requesting authorization from the Council to purchase this land out of unfunded line item 910 Purchase of Land in the Water & Sewer Departments with a $4,000 expenditure coming from Water & Sewer reserve funds. ►1=; 6- ;O 7iT lciwcsrvrir rr.auac a,s...acaas R_4 ' gee I w► .®o sec µ 1'0=6VW E u ' ZF ZFA 2P8 8+ =S KZC 95-6
