Nystu I Ward 1 Cliff Collins Ward I Norbert F. Donahue The City of Kalispell has committed itself to making Kalispell Wardle a better place to live. We believe clean air is a priceless resource vital to the health and well being of all citizens. In DaleNaarr Wardle support of the Clean Cities Program and the quality of life in Kalispell, we will make some or all of the following Jim Atkinson commitments: Ward III Lauren Granmo Ward III • Continue street sweeping and de-icer programs designed to reduce air particulate. Pamela B. Kennedy Ward IV Facilitate the work of the Clean Cities Program by the M. Duane Larson appointing of the Public Works Director as the Clean Cities Ward IV Program Coordinator. • Expand the number of alternative fuel vehicles that we own and operate as funding becomes available. • Commit to use alternative fuel in those vehicles capable of running on either an alternative fuel or gasoline. • Support other groups, particularly those focused on improving air quality, as they work to promote AFV use. • Encourage those responsible for purchasing new vehicles to give careful consideration to the purchase of both dedicated and multi -fueled alternative fuel vehicles. • All existing vehicles will be considered for conversion to alternative fuels based on usage patterns and demand, fuel availability, safety, and administrative approval. • Fuel efficiency and emission factors will be given a high priority in the selection of replacement vehicles. • Support the expansion of public alternative fueling locations as appropriate. - 2 - • Keep up to date on new technology in the AFV industry. • Encourage employees to share rides in commuting to and from work. • Encourage citizens to walk and ride bicycles when appropriate.
