WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
ACTIVITY REPORT
NOVEMBER 1995
BOB PIOREK
A group of five people from CH2m Gore & Storrie Limited located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada
toured the plant on Thursday, November 9th. Their interest was in our fermenter and gravity
thickener (volatile fatty acid propulsion), and retrofitting of these units to the Lethbridge
Wastewater Treatment Plant for phosphorus removal.
On November 14th and 15th, Montana Environmental Training Center held a seminar on
"Activated Sludge Operation and Maintenance" in the conference room. Plant operators were
involved with the training agenda.
Curtis Konecky has passed the State Class I Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Test. His
current status is Certified Operator in training.
A new gravity thickener drive unit was installed this month. The thickener tank was drained,
cleaned and inspected. Severe concrete corrosion was noted and is in need of repair. Research
into the proper coating to apply is being researched.
