Resolution 1387 - Payment for Services RenderedRESOLUTION NO. 1387.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KA.LISPELL, MONTANA:
WHEREAS, on September 6, 1931.E the City Council of the city of Kalla-
pell employed Sidney M. Logan of Kalispell, Montana to assist the
City Attorney in the defense of certain suits for damages brought
by Richard Greig and Hattie B. Greig against the City of Kalispell,
and became obliged to pay him for such services; and
WHEREAS; the services of said attorney is no longer required by
the City of Kalispell and not having; been paid for his services
and it being mandatory upon the City Council of the City of Kalis-
pell to immediately pay for such services in order to avoid liti-
gation and possible judgments; and
WHEREAS, the necessity for the payment of said services could not
reasonably have been foreseen at the time of the making of the
budget for Damages and Judgments for the fiscal year beginning
July 1, 1932, which budget was fixed at $200.00 and has already
been exceeded by 47.00 for wich an emergency resolution has herc;-
tofore been adopted; and
WHERECAS, an emergency exists which comes under the provisions of
the fifth paragraph of Section 7 of Chapter 121 of the Laws of the
twenty-second Assembly of the State of Montana;
NOW TTIERFFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that by reason of such emergency as
herein stated, the said Sidney M. Logan be paid for his services
the sum of Five hundred Dollars, and that an emergency warrant
be drawn on the General fund of the City and charged against the
account of Damages And Judgments.
