WHEREAS, the Kalispell Growth Policy 2020 was originally adopted by the Kalispell City
Council on February 18, 2003 pursuant to the mandate of MCA Title 76, Chapter 1,
Part 6; and
WHEREAS, following the requirements of the Kalispell Growth Policy 2020, the Kalispell City
Plannim,y Board has made a periodic examination of the Growth Policy to determine
the needs for amendment under the current economic, social, cultural and market

WHEREAS, with the guidance gained from the public that was provided at numerous community
meetings conducted by the Kalispell Planning Department, areas of interest on issues
affecting the growth and design of the City were identified and communicated to the
Kalispell City Planning Board through the Kalispell Planning Department report
#KGPA- 14-01 that was drafted based upon the goals and objectives of the Growth
Policy, the purpose of zoning and current circumstances in the planning jurisdiction;
and
WHEREAS, on August 12, 2014, after due and proper notice, the Kalispell City Planning Board
held a public hearing and received public comment upon Kalispell Planning
Department report #KGPA- 14-0 1; and
WHEREAS, at the conclusion of said public hearing and after consideration of the proposed
amendments, the Kalispell City Planning Board adopted report #KGPA- 14-01 as the
findings of fact and recommended approval of the proposed amendments to the
Growth Policy; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Kalispell considers it advisable that they consider the
proposed amendments to the Growth Policy and the recommendations of the
Kalispell City Planning Board, and adopt a Resolution of Intention to Adopt, Revise
or Reject a Proposed Update to the Kalispell Growth Policy 2020.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KALISPELL, AS FOLLOWS .-
SECTION I. That pursuant to Section 76-1-604, MCA, the Kalispell City Council hereby
states its intention to consider a proposed update to the Kalispell Growth
Policy 2020 as recommended by the Kalispell City Planning Board in its
submission of the Kalispell Planning Department Report #KGPA- 14-01 as
proposed findings of fact with recommended amendments.
SE-ICTION 2. The City Council shall hold a public hearing on the proposed growth policl
amendments on October 6, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Counci
Chambers located at 201 First Avenue East, Kalispell, Montana. I
SECTION 3. The City Clerk is authorized and directed to give notice of said meeting i
accordance with Section 7-1-4127, MCA. I
