HOSSACK ASSt. Chief KALISPELL POLICE DEPARTMENT MONTHLY SUMMARY FOR JANUARY 1995 February 1995 saw no violent or major crimes committed in Kalispell although officers were kept busy handling 1,082 calls. Uniformed officers issued a total of 394 citations with 28 of those citations being issued for D.U.I. Officers also arrested 105 adults and filed 185 charges against adults. Officers also arrested 46 juveniles and served 33 misdemeanor and felony warrants. Total fines and forfeitures for February 1995 were $29,164.00. Officers Paul Jacobs and Rick Parker attended a two day Hostage Negotiations seminar in Great Falls. Officer Jeff Newton traveled to Bozeman and attended an Instructor Development School from Feb. 12-17th. Our newest officer, Scott Warnell, left for Bozeman on Feb. 26th to attend the 10 week Basic Law Enforcement Academy. a 4 Flathead/Mission Mountain 800 S. We conduc*�.=d 3 searches and 4 agency assists. We seized/bought 16.8 grams of Marijuana in three separate incidents. We seized 50 dosages of a metabolic steroid and three grams of Methamphetamine (aka: Crank). Note: effective August of this year, the task force will be responsible for covering the following counties: Flathead, Lake, Sanders, Lincoln, Mineral and the Flathead Indian Nation. Because of the size and geographic location of the task forces jurisdiction it will be renamed the Northwest Drug Task Force. Respectfully, Paul Jacobs Investigator. One new home was started in Greenbriar Subdivision and 5 new twnhouses were started in Gateway Orchard Villa. Work continued on the addition to Heritage Place and Special Senses, now called Two Medicine, opened for business. Second Wind Fitness Center is progressing. Work started on the remodel of the Italian Villa at South Main and Airport Road. It will be offices when it is completed. Multi -family construction continues at Westwind Village Apartments on Two Mile Drive. Proposals have been received for a new Checker Auto building, a Whitefish Credit Union office, and Meridian Office complex. Zoning: Board of Adjustment - The Board of Adjustment did not meet in February. Personnel: The electrical inspector position was put on hold pending the outcome of Senate Bill 227. General: We have been working deligently to make our senators and representatives aware of the value of building codes and building departments. We are hopeful that SB 227 will be defeated. .
