Malicious Alarm 4 3 14. Smoke Scare,honest 8 1 15. Rescue Call 1 K This is a total of 52 fire runs, none of which were "General Alarms",(fires large enough to call in all off -duty firefighters). The estimated total fire loss for the first quarter was $77,800.00. Ambulance Service Ambulance #1 made 70 responses traveling 989 miles. Ambulance #2 made 274 responses, traveling 2618 miles. Ambulance #3 made 44 responses, traveling 2213 miles. Ambulance #4 accounted for 21 runs, traveling 403 miles. This quarter there were 77 ambulance runs that were no haul,(patients refused treatment, non -injury accidents, etc.). Also, this quarter here were 6 ambulance runs where at least two patients were treated and transported. The total number of ambulance runs for the First Quarter of 1994 were 409, with a total mileage traveled of 6223. FIRE PREVENTION IS GOOD BUSINESS All firefighters were involved in fire and Emergency Medical Training this quarter. The man hours devoted to training this quarter were 990. If this training 630 man hours were done on - duty, while 360 hours were done off -duty. some of the training areas involved are listed below: Fire Engine Driving Fire Engine Pumping Ladder Practice Self -Contained Breathing Fire Business Inspections Hazardous Materials Managing Company Tactical Operations Intermediate Wildland Firefighting Incident Command System E.M.T. Intermediate Course E.M.T. Continued Education Fire Cause Determination Fire Ground Communication Ventilation Practice Fire Hose Practice Disaster Drill Operations Fire Ground Operations Disaster Conference Fire/arson Investigation Emergency Ambulance Driving Emergency Medical Services Training Coordinator - Workshop All seven of our personnel that took the Emergency Medical Technician Intermediate Course are now Nationally and State of Montana certified to practice their skills. The City of Kalispell '. Ambulances are now licensed to transport patients at the Intermediate Level. Fire prevention activities occurring during the First Quarter of 1994 were as follows: 305 commercial building inspections with the fire marshal reinspecting 10 of the commercial building to correct the more serious problems. The fire marshal is working on 9 commercial building construction projects at this time. The Kalispell Fire Department was active in the Flathead County Fire Investigation Team and was involved in four fire investigations to determine cause and origin. Public fire safety activities included fire safety talks and demonstrations given to various civic, industrial , church and school groups. These activities contacted 633 people. Public Fire Safety subject areas during this quarter were: Fire Safety in the home 633 Fire Extinguisher Use 340 Proper use of detectors 633 Fire Prevention in Workplace 110 Kitchen Fire Safety 230 Other Kalispell Fire Department contacts were made with 127 students and 27 adults in the form of fire department tours. There were 84 people who used the Fire Department Chimney Brush Program this quarter. Chief KALISPELL POLICE DEPARTMENT MONTHLY SUMMARY March 1994 showed an increase in .total calls handled, adult and juvenile arrests and traffic citations from the previous month of February. The City/County Drug Team was also busy with it misdemeanors and 8 felony arrests which resulted in the seizure of 980 grams of marijuana and 1 gram methamphetamine. The Drug Team also worked with the City and County officers in the apprehension of two suspects that had burglarized the LBM restaurant. Sgt. Gene Holliday and Sgt. Brian Fulford attended a 3-day Homicide Investigation class in Caldwell Idaho. Sgt. Dan Bourne, officers Christenson, Jacobs and Brenden attended a 3-day Crime Scene Management school at the Outlaw Inn in Kalispell. With his ever continuing in service training, Lt. Hahn provided all officers with a 4-hour block of training in infectious diseases. Traffic citations for March March of 1993, but total Fines over March of 1993.. of 1994 were down slightly from and Forfeitures increased $4,619 FLATHEAD COUNTY DRUG TASK FORCE SYNOPSIS FOR MARCH 1994. During the month of March the team made 11 Misdemeanor and 8 Felony arrests. The team seized or bought about 980 grams of Marijuana and 1 gram of Methamphetamine. The team conducted 3 vehicle/residential searches and 3 FLIR missions. We also conducted 2 agency assists, one of which resulted in the arrest of two burglars; Fletcher and Cech. TEAMS MONTHLY FAVORITES: we conducted a controlled delivery of 2 + lbs. of MJ resulting in arrests and lots of hate and discontentment between two local dope dealers. We also got to help the city of Kalispell and the Sheriffs office in the arrest of Fletcher and Cech. Both were ambushed by officers in the LBM restaurant after they burglarized the business. The initial fright and subsequent incarceration resulted in the suspects temporarily rehabilitations.
