1. Water Rights and Water Compact NegotiationsCity of Kalispell OFFICE OF THE CITY MANAGER TO: Mayor Johnson and Kalispell City Council FROM: Doug Russell, City Manager Jb— MEETING DATE: August 25, 2014 SUBJECT: Report on the City of Kalispell Water Rights, Status of Water Compact Negotiations, and Future Considerations There has recently been substantial discussion related to Water Compact negotiations and questions related to what the potential impact could be on the water supply for the City of Kalispell. As the 2015 legislative session nears, we anticipate that negotiations of the Water Compact will continue. As such, it is an appropriate time to visit the topic of our municipal water supply and how it is positioned for the future. At the work session, Roger Noble from Applied Water will review our current Water Rights and the status and potential impact of the water compact negotiations. Additionally, we will review future consideration for the water supply. www.kalispell.com 2011 sa Avenue East PO Box 1997 Kalispell, MT 59903 Phone: 406-758-7720 Fax: 406-758-7831 www.kalispell.com 1public_works Idy ice_ l 1 To: Doug Russell, City Manager From: Susie Turner, P.E.
