MINUTES OF A RFIGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THM CITY OF KALISPELL, COUNTY OF FLATHEAD, STATE OF MONTANA,

At the regular Council meeting of the City of Kalispell,
Montana, held on the third day of March, 1924, there were
present the following members of the City Council:.44q41W..

Resolutions was adopted by a majority of all of the Council
of the City of Kalispell, to- 4it:
WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
of the City of Kalispell a Petition praying for the calling
of an election in the said City of Kalispell, at which election
there shall be submitted the question of whether or not the
indebtedness of the City of Kalispell, Montana, shall be in.. -
creased by the issuance of Coupon Bonds to the amount of
Five Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($5,500.00) to be used for
the purpose of re-imbursing the property owners for assessments
paid and for the purchase of all outstanding warrants in
Special Improvement Districts No's 156-162-196 which were
created for the purpose of extending the Water Mains of the
City of Kalspell, 'Montana; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Kalispell has
examined said Petition, and by checking the names thereon
against a certified copy of a list of registered voters for
the said City of Kalispell, which said list was furnished and
certified by the Clerk of Flathead County and against a cer—
tified copy of the assessment roll containing the names of all
persons assessed on property within said City of Kalispell
for the year of 1923, which list was furnished and certified
to by t.`Lle County Assessor of the said County. It was found
that 317 names signed To said Petition were also found on
the list of registered voters and on the assessment roll for
the preceding year assessed on property within the City of Kal-
iapell; and
WHEREAS, the City Council by subohecking the list of
registered voters within said City of Kalispell with the names
of the persons appearing on the assessment roll of the said
County for the preceding year and who are assessed on property
within the City of Kalispell have found that there are within
said City of Kalispell 920 persons whose names appear on both
lists and constitutes the total number of persons within said
City of Kalispell qualified to ei6n said Petition, and that the
Petition is signed by 20% of all those in the City of Kalispell
qualified to sign the same;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED; that the prayer of the said
Petition be and the same is hereby granted and an election is here-
by called for the Seventh day of April, 1924, for the purpose of
submitting to the voters of the City of Kalispell the following
question: Shall the City of Kalispell, County of Flathead, State
of Montana, be authorized to increase the indebtedness of the
City of Kalispell by the issuance of coupon Bonds to the amount
of Five Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($5,500,00) bearing not to
exceed 5% interest per antkum, payable semi-annually, said bonds
to be payable in twenty years and redeemable in ten years or at
any interest paying date there after, and to be payable on either
the amortization or serial plan, and to be issued for the purpose
of re-imbursing the property owners for assessments paid and for
the purphase of all outstanding warrants in Special Improvement
Districts No's 156-182-196, which were created for the purpose
of extending the Water Mains of the City of Kalispell, Montana, and
the City Clerk is hereby directed to publish a notice of the said
election in the Kalispell Times, a weekly paper published in the
City of Kalispell, said notice to run a period of three weeks
before said election. The following named persons being qualified
to vote at such election are hereby appointed Judges of Election,
First Ward: R. B. Taylor, A. W. Hollinsteiner, C. K. Dickey.
Second Ward: J. C. McC.Iffininger, W. F. 1iulany, Yxs Geo. Cade.
Third Ward: Mrs IA. powers, James Lake, W. R. Martin.
and the City Clerk is instructed to notify them by mail of their

appointment.
NOW, THEREFORE the City Attorney is instructed to draw
an ordinance which will embody all of the clauses in the
fore mentioned Revolution$.
This measure is an emergency measuer and is effective
immediately upon its passage and approval
Passed this 3rd day of March, 1924 by the City Council
of the City of Kalispell, Montana.
