A RESOLUTION DECLARING THAT AN EI-,RGENCY EXISTS AND TH1T IT IS NECES-
SARY TO MAKE EXPENDITURES FROM TIi7 STREET FUND IN EXCESS OF THE AMOUNT
PROVIDED 13Y "7M CURRENT BUDGET FOR STREET PURPOSES.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL, IITTANA:
WHEREAS, during the V+inter and Spring months of the year 1936
there has been an unprecedented fall of snow which blocked the streets
and avenues of the City to such an extent that traffic was obstructed
and the use of the streets made dangerous, and in order to provide 'or
the health and safety of the inhabitants of the City and to permit the
free passage of the streets and avenues of the City it was necessary to
employ a large number of laborers in the removal of the snow from the
streets and avenues of the City, all of which was unforeseen at the
time of the preparing of the annual budget and was far in excess of
any amount used for such purposes in previous ,years; and
WHEREAS, all of the Street and Alley funds available for use upon
the streets have been used and that it has been necessary to expend
over and above the amount provided by the current budget the sum of
12,100.00;
5E IT 71EREFORE RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Kalispeli
that be reason of the facts as hereinbefo re stated that an emergency
is hereby declared to exist and under the provisions or the second
pmragru,h of Chapter lzl of the Laws of the Twenty-second Legislative
Assembly of the zitate of :ontana, and tla t expenditures in excess of the
current budget of the City of Kalispell for street purposes be exceeded
in the sum of �2,100.00 for the purnoses herein set forth, and that
emergency warrants be drawn against said Street and ;alley fund and
that the City Treasurer is authorized and directed to pay such warrants
when funds for that purpose are available and if funds are not available
• then the same shall be registered, bear interest and be called for pay-
ment in the manner provided by law for other city warrants.
'Phis being an emergency resolution by reason of thefacts as herein
set forth, the same shall take effect and be in full force and effect
irsnediately uppn its passage and approval.
The foregoing resolution unanimously adopted by a vote of all
members present of the City Council of t_za City of Kalispell at a regu-
lar meeting thereof held on the 7th day of 1.pril, 1936.
