RESOLUTION No. 1529
A RESOLUTION DECLARING THAT AN EMERGENCY EXISTS AND THAT IT IS
NECESSARY TO MAKE EXPENDITURES IN EXCESS OF THE AMOUNT PROVIDED
BY THE CURRENT BUDGET FOR PARK EXPENDITURES.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL, MONTANA' •
,9HEREAS, a project for the purpose of draining Woodland Park
and eliminating a nuisance caused by the stagnant waters therein ana
in the vicinity thereto known as Woodland Park Drainage Project has
required the expenditure of the sum of 41,000.00 in excess of the
amount provided for that purpose; and
?91?4REAS, by the expenditure of said sum of money the City of
Kalispell and the inhabitants thereof will be able to avail themselves
of funds from the ;Yorks Progress Administration of the United States
for the carrying out of said project, which project will provide
labor for a large number of the unemployed people of Kalispell, and
that the City of Kalispell by taking advantage thereof and the ex-
penditure of the above sum for engineering and other incidental expen-
ses, and providing supplies of material therefor and obtaining a
great and lasting benefit therefrom; and
W717REAS, there are no other or further funds available to pro-
vide for the carrying on of said project;
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED BY the Council of the City of Kalispell
that by reason of the facts as hereinbefore stated that an emergency
is hereby declared to exist under the provisions of the second para-
graph of Chapter 121 of the Laws of the twenty-second Legislative
Assembly of the State of I.1ontana, and that expenditures in excess of
the current budget of the City of Kalispell for park purposes be ex-
ceeded in the sum of .1,000.00 for the purposes herein set forth,
and that the City Treasurer is authorized and directed to pay such •
warrants when funds for the same are available, and if funds are not
available then the same shall be registered, bear interest and called
for payment in the same manner provided by law for other city warrants.
This being an emergency resolution as herein set forth, the
same shall take effect and be in full force and effect immediately up-
on its passage and approval.
The foregoing resolution unanimously adopted by a vote of all
members present of the City Council of the City of Kalispell at a reg-
ular meeting thereof held on the 7th day of April, 1936.
