Present: Mark Munsinger, Everit Sliter, Tia Robbin, John Engebretson, Shirley Miller, Gary
Havens, and Kate Daniels; Director.
Absent: Rita Fitzsimmons
The meeting was called to order at 8:35 A.M. The minutes from the May meeting were
approved.
Board Vacancy:
A. Mark Norby has been appointed to fill Betty Norems position. Welcome aboard,
Mark
Directors Report:
each.
A. We now have books of tickets available, 25 tickets for $6 each and 75 or more for $5
B. The tours for May are up by over 200 from last year.
C. The Superhost training was very beneficial for the staff and the cost was $175.
D. The exterior electrical project should start the week of 6-22 with a total cost of
approximately $12,000.
E. The board voted to award Interstate Alarm, the low bidder, the bid on upgrading the
smoke alarm system at a cost of $5684.
F. The siding bid from Flathead Roofing came in at $56,560. The board decided to
check on residing in stages. The windows and trim also need to be painted.
G. Meredith Construction is too busy to build the garden shed, so Kate will talk to
Construction Advantage about it when they come to bid on the siding.
H. The Ice Cream Social will be held on July 4. There will be a BBQ by Bulldog
Catering, ice cream donated by Norms News, and music by the Sweet Adelines. We will also
have a carriage in the parade.
I. The Kirtland Cutter exhibit is scheduled to open on July 13 with a 3 and 7 P.M.
lecture. There will be drinks and food provided at a cost of $30 per person. We need to confirm
financial help from the Milhous Group a.s.a.p.
J. On August 27, there will be a Music and Museums event with the Mansion, the
Hockaday, and the Museum at Central School. This event will be held at all three museums and
be free to the public with music, food, crafts, and drinks. We need to raise $300. to $1200 for the
music. Tia suggested she may be able to get Billy Angel to play at the mansion. The mansion
would not provide free tours.
K. A membership party is planned for Sept. 14. The house will be open for members and
their guests to stroll through. We will provide beer, wine, ice tea, and appetizers. There may
also be a power point presentation on the original Mansion restoration.
L. The next membership newsletter will go out in two weeks. We have received $3345.
in memberships since the May newsletter, and $7525. since the start of our fiscal year.
M. The fire at Glacier Bank damaged one of our banners on main street. It will cost
$569. to replace just one, or we can replace 6 to 8 of them for $157. each. We will check on this
or next year.
N. The board agreed to let the Flathead Valley Stamp Club do a stamped envelope of the
mansion.
O. The board voted down a proposal to have a youth leader on the board.
P. The Past Perfect software that we need costs $1140. The grant for this has not been
completed yet.
Q. This fall, the board will have a special meeting on our fund raising plan for the garden
rejuvenation.
Treasurers Report:
A. We will need to replace some of the grant money we have spent.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:50 A.M. The next meeting will be Thursday, July 13 at
the law office of Tia Robbin at 8:30.
