AN ORDINANCE TO License and regulate Street Carni-
vals and certain other shows and exhibitions.

BE IT ORDAINED By the Council of the City of Kal-
Section 1. No Street Carnival or other like show
or other show traveling from place to place shall exhibit in
the city cf KalispLell until the person or persons in charge of
such Street Carnival or other show shall have applied to the
City Treasurer for a license therefor and such officer shall
have issued such license for which there shall be paid a fee
of $35.00 for one days exhibition of such show or any part of
one day's exhibition thereof and $10.00 for each subsequent day's
exhibition or any part of any subsequent day's exhibition there-
of.
Section 2. It shall be the duty. of the City Health
Officer and of the Police Officers of the City to inspect any
Street Carnival or other show embraced under the provisions of
this ordinance and the exhibitions thereof and report to the 1"ay-
or whether there is anything connected therewith that is detri-
mental to public health or public morals.
Section 3. It shall be the duty of the Layor to
revoke any license issued under the provisions of this ordinance
if in his opinion the continuance of' the exhibition authorized
would be detrimental to public health or public morals.
Section 4. 'The provisicns of this ordinance shall
apply to all carnivals and shows traveling frow� place to place
except what is ccrmrionly known as a Chautauqua and such as are
held in a regularly established theatre, hall or church and ex-
cept these covered by the provisions of Ordinance No. 316, passed
and approved 11arch let 1915.
Section 5. Nothing in this ordinance shall be con-
strued to modify, amend or repeal any of the provisions of the
said Ordinance No. 316.
Section 6. In case a license issued under the pro-

visions of this ordinance shall be revoked no further exhibits
or performances of any kind shall be given by the Street Carni-
val or other show for which such license was issued.
Section 7. Any person violating any of the provisions
of this ordinance shall upon conviction thereof be punished by
a fine of not exceeding $300.00 or by imprisonment not exceed-
ing sixty days or 'by both such fine and imprisonment.
Section 8. Rhe provisions of all ordinances in ccn-
flict with thfe� ordinance, except the provisions of Ordinance No.
316 herein before referred to, are hereby repealed.
Section 9. This ordinance shall take effect thirty
days after its passage.
