Ordinance 320 - Driving of Horses and VehiclesM 0 R D I N A N C E NO. 320. AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE RIDING, DRIVING AND STOPPING OF HORSES AND VEHICLES WITHIN TEE CITY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL: Section 1. No horse or vehicle shall be ridden within the City of Kalispell at a greater rate of speed than fifteen miles per hour. Section 2. Any person riding or driving any horse or vehicle upon any of the streets or avenues of the city shall ride or drive such horse or vehicle to the right of the center of such street or avenue. Section 3. Any person riding or driving any horse or vehicle from any street or avenue onto an intersecting street or avenue shall- ride or drive such horse or vehicle to the right of the center of the street intersection. Section 4. No vehicle shall be stopped with its left side to the curb. Section 5. No horse or vehicle shall be stopped within thirty feet of any fire hydrant. Section 6. No vehicle shall be stopped so as to obstruct any street, avenue or crossing; Section 7. No vehicle shall be turned around to the right of any street or avenue in the city. Section 8. All traffic on Main Street and the avenues of the city shall have the right of way over traffic on streets intersecting such street or avenues. Section 9. In the case of an alarm of fire the city fire apparatus shall have the right of way over all other traffic on any street or avenue upon which it is being driven and any person riding or driving any horse or vehicle upon that section of any street or avenue along M which fire apparatus is being driven shall promptly ride or drive such horse or vehicle as near the right hand curb as possible and shall not ride or drive onto a street intersection until such fire apparatus shall have passed by. Section 10. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall for the first offense be punishable by a fine of not less than Five Dollars nor more than One Hundred Dollars, and for each subsequent offense by a fine of not less than Ten Dollars nor more than Three Hundred Dollars, or by imprisonment for a period of not to exceed thirty days or by boti) such fine and imprisonment. Section 11. The provisions of sections one, two, three, four, five, six, seven and eight of this Ordin- ance -shall not apply to the drivers of the fire apparatus of the city while engaged in driving such apparatus. Section 12. The provisions of sections two, three,- four, five, six, seven and eight of this Ordinance shall 'not apply to officers and employees of the City while riding or driving any horse or vehicle in the serv- ice of the City., Section 13. The provisions of all ordinances In conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 14. This Ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its passage.
