Ordinance 427 - Garbage ContainersORDINANCE -N0. 427. AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR, THE KEEPING AND ESTABLISHING THE SIZE OF GARBAGE CONTAINERS WITHIN THE CITY OF KALISPELL AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COU14CIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL: Section 1. That all persons occupying any lot or lots or premises, within the City of Kalispell,shall keep,provide and maintain,at their own expense,a garbage container on said premises either in the alley ' adjoining said premises or on said premises at a convenient place for the removal of garbage by the garbage collectors. Said garbage containers shall be constructed of metal with a secure cover and shall be water tight and shall be of no greater size than can be conveniently lifted and emptied by one map and in no case shall said containers hold more than twenty gallons. Section 2. It is the duty of evey person or persons having garbage on their premises to place the same in garbage containers and keep the same securely covered. Section 3. No garbage or other refuse or waste material shall be placed in any alley except when the same is contained in a garbage container as is specified by Section 1 of this ordinance. Section 4. Any violation of this ordinance is punishable by a fine not exceeding $ 50.00 or imprisonment not exceeding thirty days or by both such fine and imprisonment. Section 5. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 6. An emergency and urgency is hereby declared to and does exist. Section 7. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval. Passed by the City Council of the City of Kalispell,Montana, this 22nd. day of May,A.D.1930.
