Ordinance 510 - Reserved Parking Spaces467 ORDINANCE NO. 510 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE RESERVING OF PARKING SPACES IN THE CONGESTED DISTRICT OF KALISPELL FOR THE USE OF TAXI CABS, BUSES, AND SIMILAR VEHICLES, PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS FOR SUCH RESERVED SPACES AND THE PAYMENT OF LICENSE FEES THE-EFOR, MAKING VIOLATIONS OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE A MISDEMEANOR, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY TO EXIST AND AMENDING ORDINANCE NUMBER 454 OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL INSOFAR AS IT IS IN CONFLICT WITH THIS ORDINANCE AND ' REPEALING ALL OTHER ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL: SECTION 1. Any person, firm, or corporation desiring a permit for the permanent use of reserved parking space for taxicabs, buses, orother similar vehicles or devises for the transportation of persons or property on any street or avenue of the congested district of the City of Kalispell as such district is defined by Subdivision (b) o Aection 247 of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Kalispell, shall make application to the City Council of the City of Kalispell for a license or permit for such reserved parking space, and the use thereof, and shall pay therefor a license or permit fee in the sum or amount and at the rate of $7.50 per month for each month's use of each such reserved parking space; such license or permit fee of $7.50 per month for each parking space shall be paybble monthly, in advance, on the first day of each month, to the City Clerk of Kalispell, for each month or fraction of a month during which each such reserved parking space shall be usdd, or ' permit for the use therof granted. SECTION 2. "or the purposes of this ordinance, parking space is defined to be a space or stall of 22' in length, measured along the curb line of the street or avdnue where parallel parking is used, or permitted, and a space or stall of 12-j' in length, measured along the curb line of the street or avenue where 45 degree angle or other angle parking is used or permitted. SECTION 3. It shall be unlawful and a misdemeanor for any person, firm, or corporation to use permanently or to hold or attempt to hold as reserved space for purposes of parking taxicabs, buses or other vehicles or devices, any parking space or stall within the congested district of the City of jalispell, except upon and after the issuance of the permit or license therefor, and the payment of the fees therefor, as herein provided. SECTION 4. Ordinance number 454 of the vity of Kalispell is hereby amended to the extent that the same is in conflict herewith, and any and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, ' are hereby repealed. SECTION 5. An emergency is hereby declared to exist and the passage of this ordinance is hereby declared to be immediately necessary to the best health and safety of the City of nalispell and this ordinance shall be and remain in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
