Axle Dump Truck Bid MEETING: December 2, 2013 BACKGROUND: Bids for two used tandem axle dump trucks were opened on Thursday, November 21, 2013. The procurement scope included the purchase of up to two used tandem axle dump trucks to be used by the Street Division for year around maintenance and construction activities. Bids were received by two companies, L & M Truck Sales and Freedom Truck Center. At this time staff is in the process of reviewing the bid submittals, and is requesting postponing the bid recommendation to a future City Council Meeting. The postponement will allow sufficient time to review the bid submittals and will solicit a third party mechanic for inspection of the proposed trucks. ACTION REQUESTED: Motion to postpone awarding the bid for Used Tandem Axle Dump Trucks to the January 6, 201 q Council Meeting. FISCAL EFFECTS: The purchase will be funded by the Special Streets Fund. ALTERNATIVES: As suggested and approved by the City Council
