AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 171 OF ORDINANCE NO. 536 KNOWN AS THE REVISED
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL OF 1947, PASSED AND APPROVED APRIL 142
1947, AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 618 PASSED AND APPROVED.BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF KALISPELL ON THE 2nd DAY OF MARCH, 1953, PERTAINING TO THE LOCATION OF
CURB LINES AND TREE LINES, BY CHANGING THE CURB LINE ON THIRD STREET EAST
BETWEEN FIRST AVENUE EAST AND THIRD AVENUE EAST, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL:
Section 1. That Section 171 of Ordinance No. 536 known as the Revised
Ordinances of the City of Kalispell, Montana of 1947, passed and approved
April 14, 1947, as amended by Ordinance No. 618 passed by the City Council
of the City of Kalispell, Montana, on the 2nd day of March, 1953, be and the
same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 171. Location of Curb Line and Tree Line. That on all the avenues
and streets of the City of Kalispell, except First Avenue East and First
Avenue West, Second, Third and Fourth Streets, east and west in said City of
Kalispell, the curb line shall extend and be 18 feet from the property line
toward the center of said avenues and streets; provided, that on First, Third
and Fourth Street east and west between the west side of the alley between
First and Second Avenues East and Second Avenue West, the curb line shall be
on the outer edge of the sidewalk; provided further that on Fourth Street West
between First Avenue West and Second Avenue West., the curb line shall be 8 feet
out from the property line; provided further, that on Third Street East
between First Avenue East and Third Avenue East the curb lines shall be d feet
out from the r art line; and on Second Street, between the west side of
the alley between FIrst and Second Avenues East and Second Avenue West the
curb line shall be on the outer edge of the sidewalk, and on the remaining
portions of said street the curb line shall be 11 feet from the property line,
and the tree line shall be 82 feet from the property line, and on First Avenue
East and west from Railroad Street to Fourth Street the curb line shall be the
outer edge of the sidewalk, and on the remaining portions of said avenues the
curb line shall be 19 feet from the property line, and all avenues and streets
in said city on which the curb line extends 18 feet from the property line,
all trees shall be located a distance of 12 feet from the property line, and
20 feet and 3 inches distant from each other.
On First Avenues East and West, except between Railroad Street and
Fourth Street, there will be two rows of trees, the inner line of trees being
32 feet from the property line, and the outer row or line of said trees will be
152 feet from the property line, and said trees shall be set in alternate order
on said rows, and each row 402 feet apart.
This section shall not be construed so as to prevent the City from
ordering or causing the removal of any trees on any streets or avenues whenever
they may deem such removal necessary for the public interest."
Section 2. All ordinances or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
Section 3. An emergency is hereby declared to end does exist.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Kalispell, Montana, this
7th day of February, 1955.

AN ORDINANCE FLYING THE SALARIES OF CERTAIN ELECTED OFFICIALS OF THE CITY OF
KALISPELL, MONTANA, AND REPEALING THOSE PORTIONS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWI Td :
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL, MONTANA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.
That effective July 1st, 19559 the annual salaries and compensation of
the following city officers shall be as follows:
MAYOR $3600.00 Per Year
Treasurer 3300.00 "
Police Judge 3000.00 ^ ^
Section 2.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
July 1st, 1955.
Section 3.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
