AND REPEALING ALL ORDII'iAICES AND PARTS Or ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT

VVHZREAS, shortly after the commencement of the present
administration, t.e Mayor, in cooperation with the city council,
appointed a Safety Committee whose duties were to work with the
fire department and the police department in order to increase
the efficiency of such departments and create a better under-
standing between the council and such departments, and the work
of such committee proving to be effective and it now being deemed
desirable to make such a committee a permanent committee, NOW
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COliNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KALISPELL, MONTANA:
Section 1. There is hereby created a permanent committee
of the city council of the city of Kalispell, consisting of three
members to be appointed by the ll4ayor at the beginning of each
administration, to serve as such during such administration, and
to be known as the Safety Committee, the members of which shall
be appointed from the council.
Section 2.
The
duties of the Safety Committee shall be
to study the problems
of
the fire department and police department
of the City of Kalispell
to discuss with such departments matters
pertaining to such departments
in their relation with the city
council, to report to
and
make recommendations to the city council
from time to time, and
to
perform such other duties relating there-
to as may properly be
directed
from time to time by the city
council.
Section 3.
All
ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are
hereby
repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect thrity days from and after its passage and approval.
Passed by the city council of the City of Kalispell,
Montana, this 2nd day of March, 1953.
