AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 768 OF ORDINANCE No. 536 KNOWN AS THE
REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL, MONTANA OF 1947 PASSED
AND APPROVED APRIL 149 1947, BY CIiANGING THE AMOUNT AND TIME OF
COLLECTION OF RETAIL LIQUOR LICENSES IN THE CITY OF KALISPELL: AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the city of Kalispell became a city of the first class on
or about the 24th day of September, 1951 and is therefore entitled
to charge a license for the retail sale of licuor as applicable to
a city of the first class, and
WHEREAS, the said increased license fee cannot become effective until
July 1, 1952 thus making it necessary that the license fees under
the present ordinance be charged and collected for the first half of the year 1952, NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF KALISPELL:
Section 1. That section 768 of Ordinance No. 536 known as the
Revised Ordinances of the City of Kalispell of 1947 be amended to read
as follows: "Section 768 Retail Lieuor Licenses,
(a) The City Council is hereby directed to issue licenses to
persons, firms and organizations to sell licuor at retail within the
City of Kalispell pursuant to the provisions of section 4-404 of
the Revised Codes of Montana of 1947 and each licensee licensed under
the provisions of this ordinance shall pay annually an annual license
fee of $300.00 per year to the City Treasurer of the City of Kalispell,
which license shall be in addition to other license fees chargeable
under the ordinances of the City of Kalispell and the laws of the
Sta e of Montana and the United States,
(b) The increased and additional license fees hereinabove
Provided for shall be effective es of July 1, 1952.

and on or after the first day of January 1952 the City Treasurer
shall charge for and collect for only the first half of the
calendar year of 19529 that is one-alf of the present amounts as set

Section 2, All ordinances or parts thereof in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
Section 3. An emergency is hereby declared to and does exist.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Kalispell, Montana
this 27th day of December, 1951.
