FOR 'TFIL ADOPTION OF THE 1968 EDITION OF "N;\TION.AL ELECTRICAL CODE"j
TO DECLARE: AN EMERGENCY 1-VID r-,10 REPEAL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE: CITY COUNCIL 01' THE CITY OF KALISPELL, MONT-
ANA, AS FOLLOvIS :
SECTION 1. Section 7-1 of the Kali spell City Code is hereby amended
to provide as follows:
A certain document, three copies of w1lich are on file in the
offica of the city clock, designated as they "National Electr c+.i Code"
and, tite reference standards therein contained and which are thereto
anpeitdod, as promulgated by the National Fire Protection Association
in the 1968 edition thereof, is hereby adopted for the purpose of
regulating the installation, extension, enlarge-•ient, alteration, etc.,
of the electrical lines and circuits in buildings and structures
otherwise located in the city, and for the purpose of providing for
the i nuance of permits and tie collection of fees therefor; provided,
hoo-re..r, that in the event that any other provision of the City Code
or the state lava shall be in conflict with such "National Electrical
Code", the provisions of the City Code or the state lad shall prevail;
provided further, that, "National Electrical Code" herein adopted
shall not cover any wiring engaged in by public telephone or telegraph
companies, nor shall such code cover central stations, power houses
or substations.
SECTION 2. An emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance is
effective immediately upon passage and adoption hereof.
SECTION 3. All ordinances of the City of Kalispell, or parts thereof,
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL, MONTANA AND
APPROVED BY THE !4AYOR, THIS 3rd day of February, 1969.
