ORDINANCE NO. 699
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ENACTMENT OF THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL
CODE FOR THE CITY OF KALISPELL, MONTANA; REPEALING CONFLICTING
ORDINANCES; AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL, MONTANA:
SECTION 1: A certain document, three copies of which are on file in'
the office of the City Clerk, designated as the "National Electrical
Code" and the reference standards thereincontained and which are
thereto appended, as promulgated by the National Fire Protection
Association in the 1962 edition thereof,.is hereby adopted for the
purpose of regulating the installation, extention, enlargement,
alteration, etc., of the electrical lines.and circuits in buildings
and structures otherwise located in the city, and for the purpose of
providing for the issuance of permits and the collection of fees
therefor; provided, however, that in the event that any other pro-
vision of the City Code or the state law shall be in conflict with
such "National Electrical Code', the provisions of the City Code or
the state law shall prevail; provided further, that, "National
Electrical Code' herein adopted shall not cover any wiring engaged
in by public telephone or telegraph companies, nor shall such codes
cover central stations, power houses or substations.
SECTION 2: Any person, firm or corporation convicted of violating
any of the provisions of the "National Electrical Code", adopted by
the preceding paragraph, shall be punished by a fine not to exceed
$300 or by imprisonment not to exceed 90 days, or by both such fine
or imprisonment.
SECTION 3: Article XLV and Sections 745 to and including Section 767
of the revised ordinances of 1947 of the City of Kalispell, Montana
are hereby repealed..
PASSED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL, MONTANA, this 6th
day of May, 1963. -
