EMPLOYMENT COMMITTEE
January 28, 1985
Chairman Grainger, Members Ruiz, Schindler, Mayor McDowell, Attorney
Neier, Public Works Director Hammer, Clerk Halver, Roger Hopkins of
The Daily Interlake.
Public Works Director Hammer requested the committee consider
establishing positions of Water Superintendent and Sewer
Superintendent.
After considerable discussion the committee requested Public Works
Director Hammer make a cost analysis and formal recommendation
before negotiations begin.
The committee next discussed communication the Mayor had received
concerning extra compensation for water and sewer foremen for extra
duties since the Water/sewer Superintendent position was vacated.
The committee has not received any formal request and do not intend
to renegotiate the union contract in the middle of the year.
After lengthy discussion, the committee requested the Director of
Public Works return to committee in 30 days with a recommendation.
