Parks Director Baker explained of a Nursery in Hamilton providing good quality
street trees at very reasonable prices. There was discussion of the trees
available and the desired trees to be purchased. The Committee recommended
Baker purchase the trees in the near future.
Parks Director Baker suggested setting up a separate budget for "trees only".
So the funds may be better kept track of and there would always be monies
specifically for trees. He also mentioned there was Tax Increment Funds that
could possibly be used for trees in the Tax Increment District.
Areas of concern within the City were discussed, regarding pruning and trimming.
Baker stated they would be taken care of. He reported the City was renting
a Boom Truck to reach the taller trees.

as a good location for trees, victorian style benches and street lamps. Another
area was Hwy 93 South, entrance to Kalispell. The possibility of trees on both
sides of the highway was discussed. Brannon suggested to Director Baker to
contact Chris Moritz of Bigfork for ideas. Moritz is a retired landscape arch-

fill the current vacancy but a Councilperson is still needed.

ceiving the Tree City, U.S.A. Award. The date of the ceremony will be Friday,
April 29th in the afternoon. Director Baker will contact Vonda McCubbins, the
