04-22-85 Parks Advisory Committee MinutesApril 22, 1985 PARKS ADVISORY COMMITTEE 7:30 P.M. Chairman Manning, Pieter Drent, DPW Hammer, James Siedlecki, LeRoy Smith, Gary Sakahara, Phil Dahl, Danny Bolla, Sherri Sproul, Lillian Topp, Jerry Jones, Richard Kulh, Pat Gyrion, Gary Rose, Dan Johns, Randy Moddrell, Tim Birk, Mark Holmes, Bill Astle and Dave Downey in attendance. Chairman Manning brought the meeting to order and outlinezl the agenda. The first article of business was to evaluate the PROPOSALS FOR PARK LAND and pick 5 that would then be turned over to Flathead Regional Development, the baseball people, and City staff for input, and proposal/project review. Pieter Drent described each of the parcels with the help of maps showing city and county park lands and the various parcels proposed. Discussion indicated that the primary concern of this search was relocation of Griffin Field so that this summer could be used preparing the location so that it could be played on next year. Financing must come from the sale of Griffin Field. A complex was preferred above several smaller parcels. _ Final choices for further consideration were numbers 1, 4, 6, 7, 9, 13, 15, and 16 as listed on the attached sheet. SCHOOL DISTRICT 5 LETTER - Gary Rose presented a tentative plan for a trade of land next to Peterson School which they need for expansion, for 3 lots on S. Woodland 624' x 492'. This would make the possibility of Pee Wee, Girl's softball, or Rugby areas for City use. Mr. Rose did not know if this trade would be contingent on the expansion of Peterson School or not. C. Manning asked Mr. Rose to present it to his Board and draw up a formal proposal if they are interested. C. Manning would then present it to the Parks Committee. SOCCER -RUGBY - There were no representatives in attendance so this will be discussed at a later date. ajg 0 C. Manning adjourned the meeting at 9:50 P.M.
