• Mayor Kennedy called the meeting to order. The meeting was also attended by Cciremission
members Neier, Schindler, Furlong, Clark and Young.
Gaming License Application - Janet Marie Arnold
Janet Marie Arnold has made application for a Gaming License for the premises at
Eagles Building, said premises to be known as valley Bingo.
Detective Young reported his investigation showed no reason to deny the license.
City Attorney Neier moved the License be issued and Councilman Schindler seconded.
The motion carried unanimously.
Request for 24 hour Gaming
Mayor Kennedy asked the Commission to read the request from Flathead Gaming to allow
gaming machines to operate 24 hour a day. Unless the Council decides otherwise, State
Law requires as of July 1, 1988 the Gaming Establishments must conform to Liquor
hours.
The Gaming Operators are asking the Council to authorize 24 hour gaming.
Mayor Kennedy stated the Camiission does not have the authority to authorize this but
the Commission could hear testimony regarding the issue.
The Commission listened to several people. (Tape did not clearly pick up the
ccuments.)
Mayor Kennedy stated this item would be on the Council Agenda for June 20, 1988.
The audience reported dealer licenses have to be renewed by June 15 and if the Council
does not extend the lours, there could be sane dealers laid off who have just
purchased License Renewals.
Councilman Furlong moved to extend the current licenses to July 15, 1988. City
Attorney Neier seconded. Councilman Furlong moved to amend his motion to allow a 30
day extension of the present Dealer Licenses. Neier seconded the amendment.
Mayor Kennedy stated this would extend the Dealer Licenses to July 31, 1988. The
motion carried.
General discussion of the effects of closing down the machines from 2:00 am., to 8:00
am., continued.
Mayor Kennedy invited all concerned to attend the Council Meeting June 20, 1988.
Dealer License Application - Wayne Hickel
Detective Young reported the application had previously been denied because his
records check indicated he had been charged with a felony. Further investigation
indicated the charges had been dismissed and he has no felonies on the record and
Young now reccrwends approval of the License Application. He has been issued a
• temporary license.
Police Chief Menbershi - Gaming Coission
Mayor Kennedy reported Chimm
ef Clark is concerned about being a voting member of the
Cbmmission when he is responsible for enforcement of the commission policies. He is
therefore resigning from the Ccaimissicn an as of this date. He would be willing to _serve

a�iisory role with the Commission,
City Attorney Neier felt he could be in the same boat but he didn't feel the
• commission has enough authority to create a conflict. Neier said the commission is
actually a committee, and by law the council is supposed to make the gaming policies.
He thought the only voting members of the commission should be the council members.
Mayor Kennedy accepted Chief Clark's resignation if the chief would stay on as a
non -voting member.
GEneral Discussion
Stuart McQuade discussed license fees around the county with the commission.
