02-06-86 Personnel Committee MinutesFebruary 6, 1986 11:00 A.M. PERSONNEL & POLICY COMMITTEE . The Committee met in the Conference Room on this date. Present were Chairman Grainger, members Hafferman and Saverud, Mayor Ed Kennedy and Roger Hopkins, OIL. Council Chambers Rental A discussion was held on former practices. A policy had never been set regarding who was eligible, who to be charged and who charges would be waived on. It was decided that the Chambers would continue to be rented at $35 per day --prorated for less than a day --to cover janitorial expenses. Priority for use of the Council Chambers would be to governmental agencies. Various other uses are to be approved by the Mayor only, who will also determine when and if fees are ever to be waived. Main Street Banner A policy for banner use was discussed; further information has been requested and when this is received, we will proceed in establishing a banner policy. Miscellaneous Employee incentives were briefly discussed, this will be taken up at the 2/10 Council Workshop meeting. Vehicle use policy was mentioned, we are awaiting replies from t,.e various depart- ment heads on this. Chairman Grainger advised the Committee and Mayor of the status of the Firefighter's grievance of Martin Luther King, Sr. Holiday. A copy of his letter to President Allen Gustafson is attached. The meeting adjourned at 12:10 P.M. We feel as the Personnel and Policy Committee that we can not satisfy this grievance.
