06-04-85 Street & Alley Comm Minutes• June 4, 1985 STREET AND ALLEY COMMITTEE 3:00 P.M.
Chairman Palmer and Councilman Saverud in attendance. DPW Hammer,
Surveyor Zavodny, Jerry Diegal and Allan Bardwell also present.
RADIO FOR GRADER - Discussion of needs. Decided to wait to see what
the Police Department is going to do and if their old equipment might work.
If not then permission granted to purchase new unit.
BRENDAN HOUSE PARKING AND FIRE LANE - Committee agreed to validate
subject to Fire Department approval (which was consequently given). Attorney
Neier to draft an Ordinance to be presented to Council June 17.
CURB CUT - JESSE BLACK - Surveyor Zavodny is to look at this situation
to see if it is possible to go in from the alley. The Committee is concerned
about traffic and the loss of parallel parking. Will report back at next
meeting.
CURB CUT - ZIMMERMAN - The request was for a total curb cut. DPW
Hammer suggested two cuts of no more than 24' each. The Committee after'
discussion decided on one 40' cut or a combination totaling no more than 40'
CARDEN SCHOOL - MERIDIAN ROAD - Discussion of the traffic plans.
Committee asked for a plat of the total area so that they would have more
• detail and information on which to base a decision. To be presented at next
meeting.
PARK PLACE - Surveyor Zavodny presented a plan including a 10' parking
lane, two 10' lanes, and diagonal parking spaces with a cul-de-sac at the end.
The Committee moved for acceptance of the plan as presented. DPW Hammer and
Surveyor Zavodny are to talk to the property owner concerning the moving of
his fence out of the City right-of-way, and to the Wilson's concerning curbing
and access.
